Im Support-Bereich dieser Webseite finden Sie ab sofort ein Update des PPPoE- Treibers für unsere Netzwerkkarte X-Surf. Der letzte große Fehler in den Kernroutinen ist jetzt endlich beseitigt, so daß eine Verbindung ins Internet auch über mehrere Stunden stabil mit voller Übertragungsleistung läuft. Trotzdem bleibt diese Version aufgrund der kurzen Testphase noch im Beta-Stadium. Das Archiv enthält erstmals ein englisches readme-file.
Mit dem Treiber, der kostenlos für Besitzer einer X-Surf Karte ist (egal wie alt!), kann ohne teure Zusatz-Software eine Verbindung zu ADSL-Services und Kabelmodems nach PPPoE-Standard hergestellt werden. In Deutschland wird ADSL unter dem Markennamen T-DSL von der Telekom vertrieben, aber auch andere Provider wie 1&1, Hansenet und diverse Lokal-Anbieter haben diese Breitband- Technologie im Programm. Wir möchten unsere Kunden daran erinnern, daß die Telekom nur noch bis Ende des Monats bei Abschluß eines DSL-Vertrages das DSL-Modem verschenkt. Nach dem 1. Januar muß das Modem für 119,95 EUR (234,60 DM) gekauft werden. | |

we will feature some extraordinary compos like the 64byte (!) intro competition. space for approx. 50 sceners (and nothing else, no quake-addicts or other crap) with computers and some without. so it's necessary to preregister if you want to bring a machine with you, else we can't guarantee you to get a place ! apart from that preregistering is recommended in any case.

Many updates have occured in the last month, although I did not had time to update this news. Sorry. Updated ExoticA's mirror of the High Voltage SID Collection. This brings it to version 4.4. The collection now contains 17,730 C64 tunes. ExoticA offers the music individually via a simple to use HTML Interface or you can download them all in one large GZIP'd TAR Archive - HVSC.tar.gz. To see whats new you can check out the e-mail announcement text - update29.txt. For more in depth changes, you can refer to the update logs in the DOCUMENTS/ Directory. UnExoticA has had 12 updates in the last month, which brings the archive to 4575 files packed into 915 archives. That's 267 megs of great music! Vor einiger Zeit ist das Programm NewsCoaster in der Beta Version 1.48 im Aminet erschienen. Es ist ein Internet Newsreader mit MUI Oberfläche. Wer hat nicht schon mal Begriffe wie Newsgroups, Usenet oder NNTP gehört? Newscoaster ist ein Programm, mit dem Ihr dieses nutzen könnt. Es ist verwandt mit MuiNews (MNews), was sehr bekannt ist. Es wird sehr schnell weiterentwickelt. Und nach einem kurzen Test kam ich zum Ergebniss, das Newscoaster ein sehr guter offline Newsreader ist, der schon jetzt viele Möglichkeiten bietet. Fazit: Wer Zugriff zu Usenet Archiven braucht, sollte sich mal NewsCoaster anschauen.

Vor kurzem ist auch von PicShow eine neuere Version im Aminet erschienen. Dieses Programm ist eigentlich nichts besonderes. Mittels Datatypes zeigt es Bilder an. Es gibt auch keine GUI, sondern per Shell wird es benutzt. Allerdings durch ein doppelklick auf das Ikon öffnet sich ein Filerequester, indem man Bilder auswählen kann. Aber dennoch möchte ich dieses Programm erwähnen. Immerhin ist dieses Programm besonders geeignet für Dopus oder DosControl, oder für Leute, die gerne mit der Shell arbeiten. Interessant ist auch, das PicShow alle Bilder im aktuellen Verzeichniss mit der rechten Maustaste anzeigt. Schön ist natürlich auch die Steuerung mit der Tastatur. Mittels Cursor Tasten kann man das nächste oder vorige Bild des Verzeichnisses anzeigen lassen. Lässt man die Maus über dem Bild stehen, werden Auflösung, Dateiname und Dateiformat angezeigt. Neu in dieser Version, man kann jetzt die Tastaturbelegung ändern. Eb!

Viele Anbieter von kostenlosen SMS haben daher bereits ihre Angebote eingeschraenkt oder eingestellt. Nun zieht auch Web.de nach und verlangt kuenftig Geld fuer das Versenden von SMS.

Established in August 1998 AMI Sector One (ASO) has become more than three years old. Today it is time to look back, but also to look forward in the future:
The site started in 1998 as a small resource for Amiga games and demos downloads. Already very early I was of the opinion that emulation in general should be legalized in some way. You must know that 1998 was the year of the IDSA (a organization by the world wide most important leisure software companies which fights against piracy) which even closed sites offering 10 years old Amiga titles. My attempts to persuade the software firms to make their Amiga software available for free were not very successful. In 1999 I met Jan Brockmann who could convince Electronic Arts to allow us to have their Amiga soft on ASO. Soon other companies joined and ASO became a growing and legal Amiga games archive. 1999 and also 2000 were the years of several layout changes. If you have been visiting this place for a longer time you can perhaps remember some of the old drafts. Of course we continued to try to get new licenses from the software firms and the site became bigger and bigger. In the! second and third quarters of 2001 things became a bit silent on ASO because of personal reasons and therefore we could no longer dedicate so much time to the site. But this changed as several new staff members joined in the past months.. Many plans were formed but soon I realized that a great number of the new helpers could not fulfill their promises and a enormous part of the ASO work still had to be done by me. Something had to be changed and this is the point where we are now: I am glad to announce that this is the end of the stand-alone site AMI Sector One. When you are reading these lines the major part of AMI Sector One will already be integrated in the well known Amiga site Back to the Roots (BTTR). This step was necessary since it has indeed become too much work for me to maintain this fast growing site as stated in the previous paragraph. Also together we see more chances to convince even more software companies to allow us to distribute their Amiga software in a free and legal way. I am looking forward to working in this experienced team. Don't worry: All AMI Sector One content will move to Back to the Roots as soon as we have finished converting and integrating all stuff. Everything else will remain online here until we will have completed this work intense one time job. Now browse over to Back to the Roots and enjoy our massive Xmas update. Finally I would like to take the opportunity to thank all visitors and all people who contributed to this site in the past years. I know that it has been months since you have read something official from the Amiga team. This is not because of lack of activity; in fact, far from it. Whether it is raising money in the US, joint development with partners in the Far East, or developing Ami2D in Sweden and New Zealand, Amiga is truly a global, 24 hours a day company.
First, we would like to say thanks to every one of you for your continued support. It has been a challenging year and Amiga continues to fight battles in this depressed technology market. However, even in these tough times, the true spirit of Amiga and the community has come shining through. We are very happy with our partners and are looking forward to a great future together in the year ahead. There has been confusion regarding the future of Amiga with some members of the community spreading rumors and even going to the extent of hacking web sites to post false information. Remember, if you do not read it on the official Amiga website or on the developer website, consider it rumor, and regard it with appropriate suspicion. If you have any concerns, contact the team or me directly and let us address any issues that you might have. We will answer. It might not be what you want to hear, but we will address your concerns. Amiga is here to win! We will win big by attacking segments of the market where there is a clear opportunity for us to have a significant impact and achieve defendable business. The opportunity for Amiga is stronger than ever. With our two-pronged strategy of AmigaDE as the universal content system and the AmigaOS as our desktop, workstation and server, we can offer a complete solution for the home, the office, the school or wherever digital computing needs exist. Sozusagen zum zweijährigen Jubiläum des Open-Source-Quake -- am 21. Dezember 1999 legte id Software die Quellen von Version 1 offen -- steht nun auch der Quelltext von Quake 2 unter der GPL. Carmack betonte aber in seiner Mitteilung, dass dabei, wie schon bei den vorherigen Releases, die Spieldaten selbst unter der Original-Lizenz verbleiben und nicht frei verteilt werden dürfen.

Eine groß angelegte Betrugsserie im Internet konnte die Kriminalpolizei in Salzgitter und die Staatsanwaltschaft Braunschweig mit Hilfe aufmerksamer Modelleisenbahner kurz nach dem Start stoppen. Ein arbeitsloser Unternehmer aus Salzgitter hatte im Internet-Auktionshaus eBay rund 4000 Artikel rund um Modelleisenbahnen im Gesamtwert von gut einer Million Mark zur Versteigerung und zum Sofortkauf angeboten.

The new RAPlay doesn't really work with AUDIO: anymore, so the StreamRA script had to be updated to use the new (and better) RAPlay arguments .. also it now makes sure to supply sufficient stack for RAPlay...
